Our winter mountain days offer a guided trip on some of Scotland’s iconic mountains. Potential objectives include; Ben Nevis via the CMD ridge, Bidean nam Bian, Buachaille Etive Mor, Ben Cruachan, Ben Lui and Ben Lawers. We’ll select specific objectives as conditions develop throughout winter, but if you have a particular hill you’d like to tackle, do let us know.
Winter outings are likely to be a more physical day than the equivalent summer trip, requiring a reasonable level of fitness and at least a basic understanding of walking in crampons and the use of an ice axe. If you’re a complete beginner, it might be best to sign up for one of our Winter Skills days initially, before taking on one of the mountain days.
It will be necessary to carry winter equipment such as ice axes, crampons and wear crampon compatible footwear. If you do not have this equipment, we can help arrange hire through Tiso.
For safety’s sake, everyone must be properly equipped for the day; no kit, no walk.
A lift will be available from a central location in Glasgow, at no additional cost.
