I spent Friday and Saturday working with a group of Bronze DofE participants from Castlemilk, supervising their practice expedition round Loch Ard, developing some of their skills are we went. They were a great bunch of girls; really positive and supportive of each other. The campsite at Renagour was the usual midge-fest, although liberal applications of Smidge kept them from biting. I suspect I could have made a fair bit of cash if I’d brought my spare headnet and offered it for rent during the evening.
They’re off to their assessed expedition in a couple of weeks time – sadly, I have a prior booking that means I can’t supervise them on that trip, but I’m sure they’ll do really well!
